DISH Network Free Satellite TV Installation Guide

DISH Network Free Satellite TV Installation Guide
By [http://ezinearticles.com/?expert=Brian_Stevens]Brian Stevens

Before you begin the satellite TV installation you need to determine where the best place is to mount the satellite dish. You need to have an unobstructed view of the southern sky, and the dish can be mounted on your roof, on the side of your home, on a porch, or even in your yard.

Note: If you live in an apartment or condo, or you have a strict home owner's association, you may need permission to mount your satellite dish on the outside of your home.

Once the dish is mounted the next step is routing the cable from the dish to the locations in your home where the satellite TV receivers will be placed. If your home is large, or the space between the walls is filled, this may take some time.

After the cable has been installed it is attached to the receivers and the receivers are then connected to your TVs.

Last, but not least, the dish is aimed toward the DISH Network satellite in order to get the correct azimuth (direction), skew (rotation), and elevation (angle). This is done using the elevation indicator on the dish, a compass, and the signal strength meter from the DISH Network on-screen menu to fine tune the dish for maximum reception.

DISH Network Satellite TV System

A DISH Network satellite TV systems consists of the following:

* Satellite TV dish - captures the signal beamed down from a DISH Network satellite.

* LNB (low noise block) converter - amplifies and converts the satellite TV signal and sends it to a receiver.

* Satellite TV receiver - processes the satellite TV signal and sends it to a TV.

When you order satellite TV service from DISH Network all the equipment you need for satellite TV viewing is free. Installation of the systems in up to four rooms of your home is also free. The installer will even show you how to operate your system and answer any questions you may have.

In addition to the free receivers you receive, you have the option of ordering a free HD (high definition) receiver for high definition viewing or a free DVR (digital video recorder) receiver so you can digitally record your favorite programs. For an additional $199 you can order a combination HD/DVR receiver.

DISH Network Satellite TV Programming

Satellite TV Is Crowned King

Satellite TV Is Crowned King
By [http://ezinearticles.com/?expert=H._Randolph]H. Randolph

Satellite television is knocking cable out of the box. It is obvious that cable television is by far the least advanced when compared to satellite television. With satellite television, you will get more channels while saving a whole lot of money.

Satellite television can support over 250 channels of programming. All channels are digital quality and offer HD (high definition) television services that are compatible to your satellite TV service.

Satellite television fees for Dish Network start at $31.99/month, while DirecTV charges $41.99/month. Both satellite television providers offer free satellite TV equipment and free installation in up to four rooms.

Cable television fees average $39.99/month for 64 channels, plus $10.95/month to add digital channels. Installation in one room is $39.95, plus $9.95 for each additional room.

Satellite television offers the biggest variety of shows, movies, sports, and news for the least amount of money. You can watch all your shows in digital video and sound with the option of watching them in HD format and recording them on a DVR (digital video recording) receiver.

Cable television outages average 3% to 5% per year while satellite television outages average about 1%. J.D. Power and Associates ranked Dish Network and DirecTV -- higher in customer satisfaction than any of the cable television companies for the last five years.

Connect My PC To My TV

With the latest trend in computer technology and recent innovation of multi-performance and interactive entertainment being offered to anyone, there is no way for me but to enjoy to the maximum level the hype of watching TV via computer connection. I can get rid of strenuous ways of watching the various programs in my PC.

In order for me to connect my PC to my TV, I will need a PC to TV converter. It is a cable that attaches to my personal computer and links its other end to the television port. I simply connect the other end of the cable or cord to the output port of my PC then attach the other end to the input port of my TV. The images or shows being played in my computer will also be displayed in my TV screen. That's truly amazing!

By the way, there are various kinds of PC to TV cables, and they do not work the same in a few ways. One difference is the manner of connecting the cords to the computer, which is attached via the outputs of a video card in which a computer monitor also connects. Next thing is the manner of attaching it to the television or the kind of input it has connections for. Another difference is that certain cables or cords perform as converters. A regular PC/TV cord merely leads the shows in the monitor to the television screen. There is still a need to adjust the set up of hardware and display options to enhance the picture or image from computer monitor, for it to appear clear on TV depending on the television and PC current settings. Do not forget that a television has a different display resolution as compared to a computer. If the cable performs as a converter, then it will automatically adjust the image from computer monitor to TV screen. There is not need to regulate the settings of TV just to make the picture appear with good resolution. The only thing to be done is to merely plug the cable in and watch the videos, programs, or downloads on TV. These kinds of cables usually need a power source like a USB port of a computer.

I can watch television from the Internet using a real TV set, or I can watch VCDs or DVDs using the DVD drive of my computer and display the video on my television screen. I can also make my big-screen TV set as the monitor of my PC to view pictures, downloads or just surf the web for anything and everything it offers, and all I did was to connect my PC to my TV.

For me, to connect my PC to my TV situated in a different room, I need to buy the 802.11g hardware, which is made to stream video from my PC to my TV aside from the cables of RCA or S-Video, which tends to weaken the signal in long distances and sometimes create a lot of noise in the line. Though, there are also hardwares being created by different companies that offer media streaming from PC to TV. Just be careful on choosing the right one. So far Windows XP Media Center Extenders and the Windows Media Connect are compatible tools that can provide good services on this matter.
